Control your PC from PSP...

This cool,
read on..

PortableVNC has been released by NHD of TeamXos. http://www.xboxopensource.com/ This is a beta releae so it’s a bit buggy… the next release will be improved no doubt.

First, in order to connect to your PC you’ll require a VNC server to be running; I recommend RealVNC. http://www.realvnc.com/

Configure the RealVNC server on your PC, load PortableVNC onto your PSP’s memory stick as you would any homebrew app/game and start it up. From here, follow the on-screen directions. Specify the IP address of your PC (the one running RealVNC server).

From the included readme.txt:

What is VNC?

VNC stands for Virtual Networked Computing.
It simply means you can use your portable to controll things
that run on your PC.

What are the Controls?

Controls in the menus are noted at the bottom of the screen.
To return to the host menu press SELECT while connected.
To switch between mouse, scrollbars, virtual keyboard, and
dpad mode press Triangle while connected.
Pressing Home at any time will display the exit menu.

Currently you should NOT suspend your PSP while running this
application or mess with the WiFi switch while it is running
Either will lockup the networking code. Also try to stay
within your WiFi range. Should a lockup occur, hold the
power switch up for 5 seconds, release it, then wait 5 more,
and power your psp back on.

Download PortableVNC v1.0 beta - the source code and both 1.0 and 1.50 EBOOT’s are included.

Being able to control winamp is as much functionality as I need, and that didn't even need this nifty program. What're up with the reports of the controls not working right? I've heard of some but don't know any of the particulars. My router isn't set up correctly right now so I can't test it out for myself >.<

Yes, there's a winamp program called BrowseAmp that makes a small server out of your computer with a webpage that you can connect to and from there has commands to control the winamp on the computer.

You'll need Wipeout Pure configured to open the actual webpage and BrowseAmp installed.

Then from BrowseAmp find out the url of the page and connect to it through the PSP.

Meh, I don't have a wireless router currently so I can't even play around with it.

If we try really hard, it shouldn't be that difficult. Since I haven't had a chance to setup my router to all my PSP's MAC, I haven't tried this yet..

Someone could make a step by step, but I will try, hopefully over the weekend,.
