Ok so I have CFW 5.00m33-4 and I would really like to stick with it, this may be a question already answered somewhere else but I would like to know if there is a known hack to bypass the OFW checks that block you from playing new UMD's and PSN downloads?

I'm in the same boat. I heard that there's a way to load the official firmware off of your memory card but I have no clue how to... I want to play a game that my fiancée bought me, but unfortunately, I need 5.50!

I have plugins and a custom theme that I made myself. XD
I don't want to have to port that stuff over. Too much work for a little reward. Especially if I can boot the official firmware off of my memory stick.

I'm running 5.00m33-4 and I would prefer to keep it that way if possible.

No, see I'm trying to use the game legally, as I said before, "UMD or PSN download"

And I tried the Version txt change but it only gets me past the initial boot of the game, then says "game could not be started..."

Specifically with MGS peace walker from PSN

Seriously. get the iso. its much easier. if you cant stand to do that, go get 5.50 GEND-3. simple as that.

I'd rather do it the old school way. Steeler, remember devHook? I think this is very similar but with newer firmwares.

Steeler!!!! Whats up dude!
Anyways, all i can think of is something similar to devhook, there was another program similar to it that I used back in the day but can't remember the name. I dunno know if there is anything similar to devhook now though or if you can adapt it to use it with 5.x
