Xbox Gamer tag question

I bought an xbox like a year ago. I played on live and then i sold it. now i bought another one and played offline for a while. I have never connected to live. now i want to but i have alot of saves. is there any way I can recover my gamer tag and keep my saves from the other account? or transfer them over? I would like to have all my saves on one account.
