Can you list the settings you got in the Emu's control menu? Maybe all you need is a tweak here and there?

No, there isn't an upgrade. You can try turning the cpu clock speed to 333, increasing the frameskip value, or using lower quality audio settings to help improve speed.

You can change the frameskip to 2 or 3, that will help speed the game up, but if you go higher than that, the game will look a little bit "choppy". Test it out and you'll see what I mean. Also, you can lower your APU cycles all the way down and use 11,000hz audio if you want. If you want audio and want faster speed, that's the best way to achieve both.
