Direct3D problems

Well normally i use ubuntu but to play many games you need windows, but for some reason when i run a game like halo or sims 2 DirectX dosent work or "cant be found"

Any suggestions

This is what i did so far:
re-install direct x 9.0c
upgrading to directX 10

My wife had the same problem when she was trying to play the Sims 2. Sorry I can't be of help but on the bright side Vista fixed the problems. So if your computer can handle it you might find a hacked version of Vista on the net and upgrade. Other than that I can't help too much....Good luck.
