To everyone, thanks for the comments.

Steeler12> I could make up a tutorial, but I don't have photos of all the steps, although you don't really need them to pull this off. Most of the work is just taking apart the psp and putting it back together. Maybe this weekend I could write something up.

Monkeyman5710> I'm in Japan, and it cost me about 4400 yen with shipping, so about $42. It will be more expensive for you to get it in the US since there's no 'official' retailer for this product. I saw one on ebay for around $60 I think. If anyone wanted to get one through me we could use paypal and I could send you one if you wanted to go that route.

It was a lot more cost effective for me to pull off this mod since I'm in Japan to get this product cheap. All in all it will be around $100 for 32gigs of storage ($40 for adapter and $60 for 2x 16gig SDHC). I have an 8gig MS pro duo that I'm selling to a friend for $50, so that cuts my cost in half.

This uses much cheaper SD cards. I'm getting TWO 16gb SD cards for under $70. Try getting ONE Pro duo for anywhere close to that price.

That's crazy! The only downside I can see is what DPM mentioned about losing the UMD drive. I use it for the few games I actually do own, so losing it would be a downer. But that's incredible howmuch storage you can get! Something like this WOULD truly make the PSP the ultimate portable media device!

Sure if you dont mind something extending out of your pro duo slot...Brents version is sleek and hidden.

No, it doesn't stick out of your memory card slot, and it uses microSD's which is what Brent uses in his.
It would work the same and he could use his UMD slot.
Brent can use SD, Micro SD and mini SD cards inside his if he wanted to, so there's more compatibility and he can easily upgrade the memory.

The CHEAPEST 16gb microSDHC was at least $60. I'm getting 2 16gb SDHC cards for that price.

And if the memory card size restriction is lifted, then I can eventually expand to even more than 32gb. With the microSD>pro duo adapter you would need to wait for a 32gb microSDHC, and god knows how much that will be.

I'm using microSD at the moment because it's all I have. I've got 2 16gb chips in the mail. Just waiting.

Wow... I guess you really did like the mod! Well, it's super easy to do, and if you could open the fat and tinker around, you'll have no problem with the slim. It's really easy.

You may have your 32gigs before I do! I'm in the process of moving here in Japan, so I'm hoping my parents were able to forward my SD cards today from the states. That means it will be another week or so until I actually get the cards.

In the mean time I know it works. I'm using 2x 2gb microSD cards in adapters. I've been playing God of War again since I barely played it before. Runs fine. Did another speed test with about 1.5 gb left on the tied cards and the speeds come out the same as if it was empty.

Been using pspstates as well on god of war and it works great. I don't know if other people have used pspstates, but if you haven't, go get it!!
