the obvious answer is VII the best game of all time .....

I've only played VII and X, and Tactics. I favor VII out of all of them definitely. If you ask, anyone will tell you that VII is one of the best final fantasy games.

It has a GREAT story and wicked gameplay. Everything about it pwns. If you haven't played it on an actual TV screen, I would highly recommend it. (Since most people here have only played it on their psps)

X is a good game too, but I got stuck at this one part and I stopped playing. It was a huge difference from VII, with a whole new system for raising your stats and other things. It was the first final fantasy game to have voice acting and the graphics are very good.

I also hear VIII and IV are among the best final fantasy games too, but I haven't gotten around to playing them.

The question was not which FF game is coming out soon, the question was "which one is the best and why".

Judging from your evasive answer I take it that you have not played so now my question is.

How do you know the one that has not come out yet that you have not played is the best?
Also you still need to answer the "why" part of the question.

Well the game does look promising . I haven't played a Final fantasy game in a LONG time.

Some people seem to make a big deal about Final Fantasy 3 on SNES, you can check that out.

Judging a game by the trailer makes as much sense as judging a game by the box art. You can only get a sense of the game by actually playing it.

FFXII is the best.

Why? Because of everything it has to offer.

Best story, best Battle System(Its simular to WoW), a sexy character, and hours of GP.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that once you beat it, it seems like you haven't...

I never did play XII... I have really only played Tactics, VII, VIII, X, and XI. VII was beasty, but when i decided to play it I never really had the time to get into it. So out of VIII, X, and XI I believe VIII is the best. Even though XI shouldn't even be counted, although it was somewhat good. Really good concepts, just to much grinding, not enough questing and not enough people to have a good economy without gold sellers.

8 and 9 are my favorites. I like 9 more. 9 feels like you are playing in an old school final fantasy game. It was kinda in a near manga form, but it was still well done and even had a great card game. The characters are just awesome for it too. It's got Vivi, the black mage. What's not to love?
