I just bought a speedstream 5637 modem and i'm having problems configuring it to get connectivity to the internet. It keeps giving me a "limited or no connectivity" box at my connection status.

How do i setup this frickin modem?

Well I have Bellsouth and all i had to do was plug the DSL cord into the right spot and the ethernet to my computer and thats it.....So i do not see what the problem might be.

Sorry Staxx :?

Does the modem require you to install some software from a cd?

it said on the plastic package to use a cd, but it didnt come with a cd so i'm assuming it's not needed.

Or maybe the guy lost it? Search the net for software if you can - maybe the producer's website has the downloads available. I lost the stuff for my wireless adapter once but I typed it the barcode and some other numbers on it and I found the stuff pretty fast.

You do have an internet service right? Gah I hate DSL, I have never had it and plan on staying away from it. Road Runner ftw of simplicity!

well, i got it working this morning...aparently it was one of those old-school dial up broadband modems, i was used to the other type that you just plug in and away you go type of thing. Anyways i'm exchanging it tomorrow for one of the newer ones. This thing is pretty damn fast though, i'll give it that.
