Read this message completely, especially those planning to leave!
Leaving because you aren't being recognized is a simple failure to understand that you must first do your part before you are even CONSIDERED to be awarded in any way, shape, or form. Slick is the only person that has slaved for PSPBrew for years. He demands more recognition than even myself, but keep in mind, I was brought here to be an admin by Nik, he just thought I should start out as a moderator so that people wouldn't get mad... kinda like how you guys are right now.
I've helped thousands of people personally, and tens of thousands more from my tutorials both here and elsewhere. But that doesn't mean that I'm anything special compared to anyone else here, and I mean that. But brentbizzle has a point that I think you guys need to understand. There's people out there that do far more than any of us have, and have legions of people that HATE them for what they've done. For example, nobody in the PSP scene can come close to replicating StrmnNrmn's work on his Nintendo 64 emulator, yet there are people that HATE him because it doesn't play full-speed. Just the same, people here are mad because they've been around for a while, and haven't been promoted to moderator or administrator, and that's simply ridiculous. Less than 0.05% of members become staff members of any forum, so I'm curious as to how people think they "deserve" a staff position out of the blue.
Please understand, I'm not ripping on the 3 that are contemplating leaving, I'm making a blanketed generalization about most of the members who have left in the past. There's a point where we all must wake up and realize that we aren't 2 years old anymore, and no matter how many times we take a sh*t correctly in the toilet, we're still producing sh*t, and not quality posts of meaningful value. Now, with that out of my system, I hope I haven't hurt any personal feelings. If I have, perhaps you don't belong on the internet in the first place, as people aren't generally friendly on here, but those of us that TRY to are the ones that get really irritated in events like this.
OKAY, here's the real issue at hand. We have people leaving, and I don't like that. In fact, when I see something bad happen, I not only want to overcome the problem, I want to make it bigger and better than ever before. For that reason, I've suspended all of the other moderators and news posters from every single site in the brewology, and I plan to reinstate new moderators and news posters for the other sites in the brewology.
This is where volunteers come in. I need the cream of the crop. I need dedicated people working towards a dedicated cause. I need members to come forward to fill those empty positions in a last stand to try and revive those sites which were cut off before they had time to mature. If you're a member of this site that feels they are wasting their potential and not being recognized, here's your chance. You want recognition? - fill a position at one of the other sites and make yourself recognized through a dedicated effort of enhancing our network in an attempt to restore it. I'm taking open calls right now. If you want it, there's a good chance you'll have it. PSPBrew and XboxBrew are fine right now, but news posters are needed throughout the entire brewology.
I'd just like to point out this one last thing. A few moderators have kept their positions. I'd like to take this time to congratulate them.
staxx
ace 012 - now a moderator of both xboxbrew as well as pspbrew
bkfraiders7 - newly appointed to xboxbrew
brentbizzle - wiibrew
For their obvious dedication and hard work, those members have retained their staff positions and should be respected for it.
