Oh, didn't think of that!
And yeah..
Pirating is about to get really bad for the Wii and 360.
More sells of consoles means more pirating.
Except on the PS3.
It's the only next gen console that doesn't support ISO's.

@Yonoko:
You can see all the E3 coverage online at G4TV.com :D

I Had heard that you could use a regular external HD for the xbox?!? you could have tons of games on it then...oh the possibilities.

r yall getting my point now? lol.

This goes even farther with being able to use a SATA cable to connect your HDD to your computer. In essence, u could modify the whole game with the right tools

If it's just a plain ISO, you could just unpack it and modify it manually the same way people do to PSP ISO's.

exactly, and we see how much success as well as potential modded stuff for psp. Xbox could be the next step here.

I'm sorry.... I really, really, really wanted Nintendo to give me a reason to buy a DS.
Really. C'mon.
They haven't.

They haven't...
I don't want a new airport program that tells me where the nearest ATM is. Nintendo is thinking in the wrong direction...
And no, I don't want a program that helps me get a dentist appointment.

About bkf's point, we are definitely far from that. Of course the games will be stored in container files, and once you edit the container file at all then it breaks the encryption. Yes a con file resigner has been released but only for halo 3, and that's only for usermaps. You would have to have a modchip on your dvd drive or a different firmware for the dvd drive to play burnt games in the first place, and the files on the dvd will probably be con files too. And to find the encryption for global con files is just like finding the encryption key for the psp. Imagine how long the psp has been out, and the only way to play homebrew is workarounds like custom firmware.

So yea. It would be really complicated to do that, especially with container files that microsoft use now. It is similar to psp, but still COMPLETELY different.

THAT is one step closer to pirating in the first place. It would be SO easy to locate what your xbox is looking for (such as the key) and put 50 keys on one disk. Then you dont even have the Halo disk in, but a custom disk.

That would work if it weren't for the fact that all xbox disks have a inner ring that has a specific engraving to identify it as a 360 disk, you'd have to obtain a blank one from microsoft, and that would require breaking alot of laws.

You can play burnt games for 360.

Crait is right, all you need is a chip for your dvd drive and/or a different dvd firmware. You can't stop people from pirating games but you can try to lessen it at least.

The King Kong game for the 360 has an exploit whenever loading games. (Kinda like Lumines or GTA:LCS)
You can exploit the loop hole in it and run homebrew. Then you can make your 360 HEN.
Then just boot up ISO's/burnt CD's. It's not that hard.
