yeah, he's too lazy to run an auto-extractor, I don't think so. I just think running 1.5 just hurts the user. I hated having Devhook on my PSP and waiting for things to load up, and taking up extra memory for a total of 3 firmwares (1.5-1.5Dev-2.71). This is an issue for me since the only stick I have is a 1gig. And as DarkPacMan has said before, these custom firmwares simplify a lot of things that we do, as in hiding corrupt icons, to launching ISOs or even flashing the flash! It is just easier.

dude whats so hard about going to a custom one? use an auto installer thats what i did. For cons on a custom firmware you could just delete some stuff on your flash0 to free up space

yeah I know, but I had to put up everything I could think of for both sides so I don't seem one-sided.

On version 3.03 oe-c I've never run into low flash errors and I've never bricked any psp. I wrote the "clear flash 0 tutorial" so that I could prove I knew something when I came to pspbrew LOL and to also get rid of a few annoying things on the xmb - not in worry of bricking at all.

I think Supashay and I are on the same boat when we say that devhook just hurts the end user. You spend all this time learning these intricate ways to customize/ run higher FW UMD's and by upgrading to custom firmware, all of that knowledge is worth nothing b/c it is replaced by more innovative methods. And this is coming from a firmware 1.50 buff... in fact, I didn't upgrade to custom firmware until 3.03 oe-a came out and I actually went back to 1.50 until 3.03 oe-c came out. I loved devhook but I really saw how slow it makes things.

I totally agree, I didn't jump onto the Custom Firmware Wagon until 2.71 SE-B'''

I was a devhook junkie, it was great tech for it's time, but it was easily beaten by the innovations of the custom firmware.

Emulation and UMD/ISO needs ofcourse, thats a point but the higher custom firmware built in emulation
has better points for use.
