I play the air guitar.
But that's it.

And when I say I play it, I mean I am really, really good at it.

I can play guitar and would say I'm competent at my FX knowledge too, what kind of effects were you thinking of?
Pitch, Phazer, Wah-wah, Korg Kaos pad?

If you check out Hugh Manson, he builds custom guitars with FX built into them, he built all of Matt Bellamy's guitars (Muse)

If you want multi-FX pedals you're best bet is the BOSS range, they allow you to customize your sound on the pedal with far more accuracy, you also have a pedal with a 45' angle to adjust the parameters of the wah/octave shifter etc.. and by pressing the top with your foot you switch modes to adjust volume output.
you can also save settings to up to 10 pages with three slots on each, or you can live adjust the distortion, modulation and delay separately.. Well they aren't called the best for nothing!

On the other hand if you want to go all out you can get an "all-access" pedal board and hook up all the FX pedals, racks, channels etc you can think of and pre-program over a hundred channels and effects and adjust them all live.. it's a blue board with over a dozen buttons to hit with your foot :)

Ditto to that music! Though I'll have to admit, there's a lot of pop-rock out there and some of it is fairly catchy :D

As for the challenge, Google the KORG Kaos pad and attach it to your guitar like Hugh Manson did, it's called the M1D1, and thats one sexy guitar my friend.
