is it possible to put a wii homebrew using a usb cable form my laptop and plugging it in to the back of the wii?

If you mean load homebrew applications from HDD yes it is, just don't have the SD card in. and have a FAT32 system with the required files in and it should load but not all files are HDD compatible.

Do you mean you want to directly connect your laptop to your Wii? That doesn't work, I don't think. You'll need either a thumb drive or an external HDD.

There's a way to load apps over WiFi with a program called WiiLoad, but you'll still need an SD card or a USB device attached to the Wii. I think WiiLoad is part of the hackmii install package, but I can't check from here.

there also things on the snes9xGx emulaters called "WMB" or what not, i believe that is over wifi, i cant be 100% sure but google is your friend. there are many ways to play things over wifi but i wouldnt personaly tell you to use them due to the fact if its a bit iffy. Just use a flash drive, or an external HDD.

I think that's SMB. It'll let you mount a shared folder on your PC and read roms from there.
