BaNNeRBoMB/Bootmii/Possible new exploits for 4.0

i have been reading the past few days excessivly for new wii exploits and this is one ive found.

If anyone wants to help out do this-- any menu version, HBC already installed, gecko not required:

1. temporarily rename the private folder on SD to something else, if you have one

2. download this file and unzip it onto the root of the SD

3. go to the menu, data management (not SD menu if you're on 4.0)

4. go to channels, SD, ensure there is a channel with a blank banner titled "Ninja Gaiden"

5. return immediately to the menu using the back button (not the home button...), go to HBC, and launch it

6. download and run this. it will create a file on your SD with the title "report.txt". Email me a copy of it ([email protected])

So, I post in some IRC channels about report.txt and go on vacation-- check my email today-- and there are like 150 new mails in my inbox with reports.txt.

I have view both of those, ALOT and belive that they are real, i know the timing is sucky
but thats life.
im just posting to inform because not everyone knows about them,
Also will be updating as soon as i find its out. im currently waiting patiently...
P.S if you have upgraded to 4.0 i wouldnt recommend updating again (if they make a patch for this)

have been searching the web for past 2 day's 24/7 If ANYONE has any infomation on Comex's bannetbomb or a exploit will be much appricited(spelling ftl) (on my wii as i edit this) info on when it will be finished mainly because i can't stop myself searching...

Just a brief note, since I haven’t written in a while –

Yes, Marcan has shifted his attention to things non-Wii related. I can hardly blame him; the only reason any of us do what we do is because we find it fun, so when it stops being fun — what’s the point? He’s still around, if you know where to look, and I hope that once we release BootMii, we’ll see some neat projects emerge from it.

Yes, BootMii is still alive; I still can’t promise a release date, but most of the code has been written and we’re now to the point of testing it out and adding some polish. It’s been installed on about 12 Wiis so far and nobody’s been bricked; I hope that we can release a “public beta” within the next couple of weeks. (In this case, “public beta” will mean “we’ve tested this out quite a bit and are fairly confident that you won’t regret trying it, but not everything is finished and we can’t make too many promises). I would expect those of you who have older Wiis (i.e. those who have a vulnerable boot1) to have an easier time installing it, but we intend to eventually add support for as many of your Wiis as possible.

The hack hasn't been released yet. The only thing that was distributed was a file to test for whatever exploit it uses to check compatibility. Give it some time.

I know, i know... its taught me one thing though... be prepared incase you want to degrade >.<

It not really... All you do is put the proper files on your SD card, and I guess when you go to the system menu to browse the card it will trip the hack. No harder than the new PSP ChickHEN Tiff exploit.

I did. This thread is about the bannerbomb exploit...

you posted about bootmii which is completely different.

I used bannerbomb on a 4.0 wii and successfully installed HBC and was able to run emulators and some apps, but failed when trying to downgrade, i tried like 40 million dif things to downgrade but didnt work. Homebrew chanel works fine though

If you need help with homebrew on system menu 4.0 i found this site to help out a lot.
