Easiest thing to try first would be to adjust the DVD pot. Just need a multimeter and a really small flat head screw driver, and you adjust basically the resistor that controls the power of the laser. Make the laser stronger and sometimes your dvd drive will keep on ticking for another year or two ;)

well, meh, I fixed it the awesome way.... I looked it up on youtube but everything failed, tried tapping, tried the power off then slamming to reset power off, tried other stuff as well... Then I did something which was actually cause I was pissed, I kept opening and closing the tray... and then it worked but for some reason my Pes 10 disk doesn't work anymore :(

lol I doubt that will work for long. Either way your laser is going out on you, if anything physical abuse is only going to shorten its life even further lol. Like I said though, your best bet is to actually turn up the laser if you want it to work reliably again.

Turning up the laser is free why would you buy a drive before that? You'd have to get the same drive you currently have anyways and transfer the pcb over to the new drive unless you know how to dump the firmware to get the dvd drive key and copy it to the new drive. Much easier just to replace the laser if your going that route.
