i am no fan of microsoft, but decided to launch into an xbox 360 with rrod in order to fix it.

here what happend.

xclamps already removed. i did little tweakings and cleanings and went through various error codes.

i am at a point i used my mom embossing gun ( equiv. to solder reflower. same high temps) and before i got a chance to test it, my power supply gave out.

i would like to ask what went wrong. when i press the power button, it flashes red (on brick) just once and rrod shows up.
apperently this is a power supply err. it is also supposedly similar to when a component on the mobo comes loose. i re soldered it to no avail. any ideas? the sooner i get this working the sooner i can get on live.

If the red light appears on the power brick then the power brick is dead itself, but then again I haven't ever really had problems with one personally but I know a friend whose power brick died and had to get a new one, for no apparent reason other then poor ventilation.

I thought you said that the xbox was used? How else would the xclamps already be removed?
