So ive heard that you can use a regular usb wireless adaptor instead of the microsoft one that is way overpriced. Dont know if my friend was just makin stuff up, but have you all ever heard of it happening?

Yeah, I think you can buy the old Linksys "gaming"" ones and make them work with a little bit of extra effort.

Just plug ur ethernet cable from ur 360 to your laptop. Im using vista, so i go to "Network and Sharing Center" then "Manage Network Connections", right click the wireless network connection, the clikc properties. There is a sharing tab on there and check both boxes. Ur done now. :D

I've actually been looking to try it myself, I'll do that and get back to you. Otherwise, check these amazon reviews on the Linksys one, one should explain how to use it on the 360.

bah my laptop now is a piece of crap, running xp. Dont think it could handle having vista. you like it?

terdinglage, ill check it out and see what happens. $100 is just rediculus for wireless capabilities.
Might have to get some kind because lightning just sturck my internet (not the power, ive got enough UPS and surge protection for that) but actually hit my cable line and my box was plugged in. Hope the damage stopped at the modem, otherwise ill be very very sad.

ok so i broke down and bought the $99 from M$. But there was a catch that MADE me buy it.
Lightning stuck, and fried my modem, router, switch, pc nic card and my 360 nic card. So i cant use Ethernet capabilities on it ever again. So i had to go with the only USB wireless adaptor that works with 360's. Dam it sucks but you gotta do what you gotta do.

If you have a laptop you can just bridge the connections. Its the cheapest method.(Assuming you have a laptop)
