Hack Like A Pro: Easy Hacks
____________
This section of the guide will show you how to do easy hacks using CheatMaster. this is where you want to start if you are new to game hacking, then advance your way up. this will give you the general "idea" of how games work and how you can overcome there obstacles. this guide will be short n sweet.
Generaly, what you see on your screen number wise can be directly modified using the standard search function in CM. we will use the following game as an example:
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Any Version)
We are going to hack your money in GTA. im going to assume you already have devhook installed and CM installed as well, now lets get to it.
Once your in game, pull up CM hack menu (default vol-, vol+) once done, go to "Search Value" then choose "New Search", here you will see 00000000000. here is where you will enter the ammount of money you have. if you have 123 bucks, enter 0000000123 then press O. after the search is done, return to game.
Next step is to alter your money amount, kill someone or however you plan to get some cash. lets say you now have 250 bucks, go back into CM hack menu, repeat step 1. this time enter 250 and press O. repeat this as many times as needed untill you have 1 address left. that will be your money code. just press O on your code and add it to TAB.
You will now see these options:
[Add to table] Address: 0x0???????, just press O. you will now see "Data Type: Auto, Byte, Word, Dword. just choose "auto" and press O. you will now see this, "Operation: write, bit and, bit or, bit xor, just choose "write" and hit O. now you will see "Value: ??????????" this is where you will enter the ammount of money you will to have. say 99999999. next choose "Lock Value" and hit O. go back into game and your money should now raise to the value you entered.
Sometimes, you wont end up with just 1 result. in this case, you do a "process of elimination". start with first code and do as mentioned above untill you find the correct code.
This method applys to all games. in some cases just doing a standard number search does not work. the Medium Hacks guide will further explain this.
You can do this method for all types of numbers. be it Ammo, Health, or anything else. for example, in GTA, when garage doors are open, you can search for 1, let it close and then search for 0. 0 is closed, 1 is open. after you find the code, freeze it at 1 and the garage will always stay open. pointless code but it shows you the possibilities. generally in games, when an event happens, its 1. when the event turns off or what have ya, its 0. like the traffic lights in gta, serch between 1,2 and 3 or 0,1, and 2 to find out what controls yellow red and green lights. sometimes, 0 is the FIRST place. for example, on any games menu, put the curser selector on the SECOND option, now do a search for 1. NEVER SEARCH FOR 0 THE FIRST SEARCH! it will take over 30 mins to give results, seeing how most the games memory IS 0. after you search for 1 on the second menu option, go to third and search for 2. repeat all the way up. eventually you will find the address that controls the menu. sometimes the first menu option is 1, not 0. expirament.
Whats the purpose of hacking the menu? well, SOME games have hidden menu features. be it not yet unlocked options or a hidden DEBUG mode. take tony hawk 1 for playstation 1, after doing the above searches and you can control the menu, the last option on screen was posistion 6. well what happens if i freeze the code? the curser will never moveoff that menu option. pointless? yes, BUT what happens if i make it say 7? when theres only 5-6 options on menu? now we are talking, doing this unlocked a hidden programers menu that had special features. this exsist in almost all games. not generally on the menu but IN GAME itself. i will talk more about this in the HARD HACKS guide.
Using the little bit that i have just talked about, you can discover alot of kool things in games. IF this method doesnt lock/modify your health, ammo, menu, then head over to the MEDIUM HACKS guide now to find out what you need to do.
