Subscribing?

In the F.A.Q it mentions something of subscribing to forums on the site?

Anyone know how to do this? I looked but I cant seem to figure it out or if its there.

If I'm just missing it and its the broad daylight I apologize.

EDIT: I knew the second I posted this I would find it lol..

Nevermind =/

Re: Subscribing?

I vote against it automatically doing that. Unless you can turn it off in your UCP.
Wouldn't it severely slow the server down whenever he have a lot of activity if the site is sending out so many E-Mails?

Re: Subscribing?

I say have it off by default. All those people that don't hardly get on or get on once or twice will receive many e-mails. The more e-mails we send, the slower our site will theoretically run.

Re: Subscribing?

thats actually not true. the emails have nothing to do with the speed of the site (unless we are sending 5000x more what we will probably send).

I agree its probably a bad idea to have auto subscribe... but it does bring ppl back to the forums.

Re: Subscribing?

If it's not going to slow us down, then definitely do it!! :D
I guess VB is the forum that is realy slowed down by e-mails. I know two other forums that I was and still am an admin on slowed down by just a few e-mails and they were both VB.

Re: Subscribing?

I still am against it because If I just joined the site and open my email once in a while I'd be pissed to have loads of emails coming from this lame new site... but as an older member, I wouldn't care wither way...

Re: Subscribing?

The emails would only be coming from threads that you have replied to right?
