new s.m.b. wii update

dumb question... will the mandatory update kill my homebrew channel???

They almost always kill the ability to run homebrew but are followed by workarounds.

ok... same topic, different question... I really wanna play the game now. If I update will it brick my wii? Should I use Waninkoko's 4.2 installer instead or use the update from the new s.m.b. wii disc, then rehack it later?

k... well I updated and everything went smoothly. Made sure to remove my sd card with homebrew on it and it didn't even delete the homebrew channel. It just upgraded my system menu to 4.1
